Hey! Thanks for the quick response and sharing your experience. Sounds like we're sailing in the same boat. I bet getting a new battery made a world of difference for you. Just out of curiosity, do you remember what you ended up coughing up for the fix (battery and all)? And have you found any related surprises cropping up since? I'm hoping to avoid another garage fiasco. Fingers crossed! Cheers.
Hey! No problem at all, happy to help. Yeah, it did feel like I got a brand new ride with that new battery installed. Hasn't given me a single issue since the swap. When it comes to the cost, I got charged 290.00 € for the whole deal - getting the old battery replaced and fixing the "undervoltage" issue. It might seem a bit steep, but trust me, the peace of mind it gives you afterwards is worth every penny. Haven't had any surprise pop-ups related to this, thankfully. Looks like the mechanic nailed it in one go with this one. Here's hoping your repair experience goes smoother this time around. Do keep us posted! All the best.
Hey again, Wow, that's quite reassuring to know. Honestly, considering the hassle these repairs can be, the price tag doesn't seem too extravagant when peace of mind is at stake. I'm definitely feeling a bit better heading into this thanks to you. It's always comforting to get some honest insight from who've been in the same boat. I'll be sure to keep you guys in the loop with whatever I find out. Take care and cheers for the advice!
Hey there, You're right on the money, sounds exactly like the issues I had with my 2012 Mazda Atenza not so long ago. I had near about 220,000 KM on it, ignition failed me a couple of times and I had the exact symptoms you're describing - dimming headlights and a flickering dash. Turned out, my battery wasn't just empty, but also defective. My mechanic at the garage did a couple of tests, including a load test to confirm it. They also checked the alternator, just to make sure it wasn't causing any undue pressure on the battery. Luckily, it wasn't a big issue; just needed a new battery. I know you had a bad run with your garage, but maybe you wanna give them another chance? Remember, replacing your battery is pretty routine maintenance, but you do want to check that alternator too, just to play safe. All the best!
