2009 Hyundai Matrix Electrical Issues and Faulty Park Distance Control

General electric malfunction

|

Park distance control without function

|

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

|

Fault stored

Hey! I've got a 2009 Hyundai Matrix, gasoline engine, rolled about 65,762 km till now. Lately, it's showing odd symptoms like park distance control with no function, general electrical issues, and it's storing faults. Also, there's a pesky warning light on speedometer. I think it's the parking aid acting up, not sure though. Anyone faced anything similar? Any idea what's the cause? Also would love advice on trusting mechanics since the last one was a nightmare. Cheers!

Hey there! I own a 2006 Hyundai Tucson, similar issues came up around the same mileage for me as well. It turned out to be a cable connection issue in my case. Those electrical quirks you mentioned - they're probably stemming from a faulty connection link. And that alert light you're seeing on the speedometer, that was familiar to me too. I remember when I took my car to the garage, the technicians found that the earth connection of the control unit wasn't alright. Had to get the connections cleaned up and properly fixed, and thankfully, it wasn't a serious or complex issue. It was more of annoying checkups and disassembling connections until it got figured out. I was also lucky to have an understanding mechanic who took the time to walk me through what they were doing. So it's all about finding a good mechanic you can trust. Cheers and good luck!

Hey, appreciate your insights! Sounds like our cars might be kindred spirits with these cable issues, huh? Any chance you recall what the damage was on your wallet for getting that sorted? Also, have you run into any more quirks like that since? Always nice to know what else I'm potentially in for. Thanks!

Hey! Yeah, our cars might indeed be cousins from another series, eh? All those cable issues cost me grand total of 170 quid to get it all sorted. Yes, you heard it right! Regarding any other quirks after that, fortunately, it's been smooth sailing since then. Most importantly, the darn parking aid is back to behaving itself - no more unusual fits of functional limitations since that trip to the mechanic. Proof of a job well done I would say. So, just dive in, find someone reliable, and get those cables looked at! Good luck with everything, dude!

Thanks a ton! Bless your soul. Sounds like a trip to the garage is in my near future, then. Fingers crossed it doesn't dig too deep in my pockets. £170 isn't too bad though, hoping my bill won't hit too much above that. Your insights have put my mind at ease a bit. Now off to find a trustworthy mechanic. Take care and happy driving! Cheers!!
