Hey there, that's really interesting. I had no idea that a faulty valve cable connection could cause such a ruckus. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's genuinely helpful! Out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much it cost you to get it fixed? And have you encountered any related problems since the repair? Cheers!
Hey, no worries, glad to share. As for the cost, it set me back about 170 Euro to straighten up the valve cable connection issue. Since then, it's been smooth sailing, no other gremlins. Oh, and you remember about the transmission oil pressure cooler suspicion I had earlier? Well, turned out it was indeed faulty. It got all sorted when I took the car to the mechanic. So, all in all, my ride's running smoother than ever after that quick trip to the workshop. Nevertheless, I'd advise not to diagnose the problem on your own. Better have it checked up by a professional mechanic. Cheers!
Hey, thanks a lot for your input! I really appreciate you sparing the time to share your experience, and I'm pleased to hear that your ride's smoother now. I'm actually relieved to know that it wasn't an issue pertaining to your transmission. 170 Euro sounds reasonable to me for such a fix. The tip about not diagnosing on my own makes total sense. I was merely making an educated guess but I do agree that it's better to consult a professional. I'll definitely take your advice and get it checked out by a mechanic. Can't wait to have my ride running smoother too. Thanks a lot again, cheers!
Hey there, I totally get your concern - I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. It's a slightly different model but our situations broadly align. I was having trouble with erratic shifts and nasty noises too and, like you, my first guess was the transmission or some component of it. But after a visit to the garage, turns out it was the valve cable connection that was defective. Upon inspection, the mechanic said that my valve cable was not connected properly which was causing problems in gear shifting. Although it sounds like a major issue, it really wasn't. All they needed to do was fix the valve cable connection. It's definitely not the end of the world, but I do strongly recommend getting it checked out sooner rather than later to prevent other mechanical problems from showing up. Your car might require a similar fix but it's always best to have it tested professionally since the issue could emerge from different sources. Best of luck!
