Hey there, Thanks a ton for the advice - seriously helpful! It sounds like our predicaments line up pretty closely. I think I'll have a chat with a local mechanic about the glow plugs, fingers crossed that's all it is. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back to replace them? And have you had any similar issues crop up with your Santa Fe since then? Appreciate you taking the time to help out, champ! Best,
Hey champ, Good to hear from you! After that whole glow plug episode, surprisingly, no major problems have popped up. In fact, my Santa Fe has been running pretty smoothly. Regarding your question, getting the defective glow plug fixed cost me a tidy sum of 560 Euro. Not exactly pocket change, but worth it for the peace of mind. And hey, here's some good news for you - after the mechanic took a look, turns out it was indeed the parking heater causing a problem in my car, just like you suspected. Got that fixed and haven't had an issue since. Hope your Hyundai gives you no more trouble after this. Good luck with it, and drive safe! Cheers!
Hey! Thanks again for all the insight! Knowing your experiences makes it a bit easier to deal with my Hyundai problem. Those 560 Euro sound a right steal for peace of mind. So relieved to hear about your parking heater suspicion turning out spot on - gives me hope that could be my issue too. I'll get my mechanic to check both the glow plugs and the parking heater. Crossing fingers it's a quick fix with no more trouble in the horizon! Take care and safe driving, bud! All the best,
Hey! Funny you say that, had a similar situation with my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe not too long ago. Mine was also refusing to start up. After a bit of digging around and eliminating other possibilities, it turned out that the glow plug was defective. At the garage, the crew tested the glow plugs individually to pinpoint the fault. Turns out, a defective glow plug makes it difficult to ignite the fuel when starting the engine, hence the starting issue. Once they replaced them, my Santa Fe was back to its usual self. Don’t sweat it too much though, this isn't a massive, car-wrecking problem. Just needs a good mechanic to sort it out. Be sure they check out your glow plugs before jumping to the pricier parts. Hope this helps! Cheers
