Hey there! Cheers for sharing your experience. Seriously, it's easing my nerves knowing someone else has been down this same frustrating road. Sounds like you absolutely hit the nail on the head with the whole wheel hub assembly bit. How much did you end up shelling out for the whole repair? And since sorting it out, have you had any ABS/DSC gremlins creeping up again? Just want a rough idea of what I'm getting my wallet into and if there's a chance of running into more issues down the line. Safe travels, bud!
What's up! Nope, since taking care of that pesky little problem, my ABS/DSC system has been running smooth as silk, no gremlins in sight. I'm glad my past troubles can ease your worries a bit. About the cost, well, brace yourself. I coughed up about 170.00 € to fix the issue. The entire component where the sensor was integrated had to be replaced, you see, and that's where your Euro go. But I'll tell you this for free - it's a price worth paying to put the nagging issues to bed. Hope that shines a light on what you're dealing with here. Keep the rubber side down!
Hey! I'm grateful for your input, bud! You're right; the peace of mind knowing the car is safe is priceless – it's worth every Euro. Glad to know your ABS/DSC system has been working faultlessly since the fix. Fingers crossed, walking a similar path should mean similar results for me. Appreciate you sharing your experience and putting some budgetary context around it. Next stop is the garage. Guess it’s about time I parted with some Euro for the good of my trusty Kia Ceed. Until next time, happy driving!
Hey there! Faced a similar issue with my 2009 Kia Optima last year. The symptoms matched your description word for word - power loss, malfunctioning ABS/DSC system, the whole nine yards. After some fuss, it turned out to be the ABS sensor that was integrated in the wheel hub assembly. As you suspected, the supply voltage of this sensor was off, causing all these problems. While this didn't fundamentally damage the car, it definitely was a serious issue. A faulty ABS sensor can create substantial hazardous conditions especially during bad weather when you need the anti-lock brake system working at its full capacity. Got it sorted out at the local garage. It was a relatively straightforward job - replace the entire wheel hub assembly, which is standard practice when the sensor is integrated into it. The fix significantly improved the ABS/DSC system and the power loss issue disappeared. Hope this helps you out. Take care of your Ceed! Drive safe.
