Hey! I had a similar situation with my own 2008 Ford Taurus. Seat heater just konked out one frosty morning. No warning, no nothing. Turned out it was a heating mat issue. Not great timing, I can tell you that! Had it sorted at my local garage I trust. It wasn't a tiny fix, they had to remove the seat coverings and replace the heating mat below. The total for sorting out the heating mat issue was €390, it's not exactly pocket change, but besides the hit to the wallet, the repair went quite smoothly. Also, to answer your question about any recurring problems in that area, there's been nothing of the sort. That faulty seat heating hasn’t been an issue since I saw the mechanic.
