Hey, thanks for the insight! It's interesting that your Bravo had a similar problem and it turned out to be the wiring harness. I'm definitely going to bring that up when I get my Stilo looked at. I hope it's not something major though, just trying to keep the old girl running smoothly, you know? By the way, do you remember roughly how much you had to pay for your fix? And since getting that sorted, have any other issues popped up related to the ignition or anything else for that matter? I'm just trying to brace myself for whatever might come next. Thanks again.
Hey there! Ah, the cost of repairs, the eternal question, right? So, for the wiring harness defect, it ran me up about 95 big ones (and by that, I mean Euro!). But worth every cent cuz the fix sure did take care of the ignition problem. Now about my Bravo's behaviour post-mechanic visit, well, it’s been running like a champ. Seriously, the ignition starter switch fault has become a thing of the past...like a really bad date, you don't want to remember, you know what I mean? It’s been all smooth starts and revs since then, no more ugly surprises. So, when you go to the mechanic, remind them about the harness and the starter switch. Old girls like ours require a bit of pampering every now and then, eh? I’m pretty sure your Stilo will be back on its feet in no time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Drive safe, and let me know how it all goes!
you've been a lifesaver! I appreciate the advice. Good to know the cost for your fix wasn't too steep - 95 Euro is pretty fair if it gets rid of the damned ignition issues. I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear your Bravo’s been trouble-free since. I'm all set to take the old girl in now, and I'll definitely remember to bring up the wiring harness and the starter switch. Here's to hoping it's not a serious issue, and my Stilo gets back in top shape soon just like your Bravo! I'll keep you updated and fingers crossed it all goes well. Thanks so much again! Drive safe as well. We've got to keep these old girls on the road where they belong, right? Cheers!
Hey there! I feel you, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Fiat Bravo some time ago. Thought it was the ignition starter switch too, but it turned out to be the wiring harness. Here's my little tale: So one fine day, my Bravo decided it didn't want to start either. I tried the key, no luck, just like you. Fortunately, my local garage was pretty cluey. After poking around a bit, they figured out that the wiring harness was defective. We're talking major engine operations here, which had me pretty rattled. Here's the thing though in our cars, the wiring harness can develop faults pretty easily. But once that's sorted, you're back on the road. My advice would be to get your car checked ASAP. I mean, I'm no mechanic, but a faulty harness can cause all sorts of weird issues which can seem like other stuff. So, fingers crossed it's nothing more serious in your case. Good luck with your Stilo!
