Hey there, That's fantastic to hear it wasn't anything too serious with your Sportage. It gives me a glimmer of hope that I might be on a similar path. I seriously thought I'd have to dive into the 'Hall sensor nightmare'. So, about the cabling and plug connections - you got it all sorted on the same day, huh? That sounds promising. I'm just wondering how much did it set you back? Hoping it wasn't too hefty of a bill for such an issue. And yes, I can't agree more. It's far better to get such things sorted out ASAP. Nothing worse than a stubborn car with a mind of its own! And just out of curiosity, any further issues come up with your Sportage since getting that done? Cheers for the help! Much appreciated.
Hey! Spot on, I had it all fixed within the day, relieving right? Overall, I paid 95.00 € for the garage to sort out the faulty cables and plug connections. I reckon it's a pretty fair price considering the fast turn around and the headache it saved me. Totally worth it! And you'd be pleased to know that since getting it all done, the Sportage is humming along nicely, with no additional issues cropping up. Whew! Most importantly, since seeing the pros, I haven't had the Hall sensor signal going wonky on me again. The convertible top is behaving as expected now, no more stubbornness! Good luck with your Pride I'm sure you'll get it sorted and it'll be purring like a kitten in no time! Keep us posted, yeah? Cheers!
Hey! I'm feeling so relieved! 95.00 € sounds super reasonable for a day's work and of course, I'd rather pay that than have a stubborn car driving me nuts. Glad to hear your Sportage is behaving again with no extra issues to surprise you! I can't thank you enough for this. Wasn't expecting someone to have had a similar issue and share a solution with me. Will be taking the old Pride down to the local blokes and get it all sorted ASAP. Fingers crossed, it goes as smoothly as yours did. Will absolutely keep you guys posted. Thanks heaps! Catch ya later!
Hey there, Funny you should mention it, but I had a similar issue with my 2003 Kia Sportage not long ago. The same warning light popped up on the dashboard, and there was no movement on my regular hard top, let alone a convertible. Just like you, my first thought was a faulty Hall sensor. Turned out, it wasn't quite that. Actually, it was an issue with the cabling and plug connections. Seemed these guys took a bit of a beating over the years and just started messing with the system. Gave it into a local garage, the mechanics were pretty thorough. They checked, diagnosed, and fixed it all in one day. Just swapped out the bad cables, cleaned, and tightened all the connections. After that, it was good to go, no more warning lights or stubborn tops to worry about! Having said that, it's a bit of a serious issue as the car relies heavily on these connections to run smoothly. So it would be wise to sort it out ASAP. But hey, nothing to sweat about, things like this happen. Just follow my lead, get it checked out by the professional, and you should be good to go. Hope this helps! All the best sorting the issues out.
