03 Nissan Presage: Audio and Navigation Systems Silent Post-mechanic Visit

No sound of the Audiosystem

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey folks, I'm having trouble with my '03 Nissan Presage, gasoline, kinda well-traveled at 142,208 km. After a not-so-great run-in with my mechanic, the audio and navigation systems have gone silent. Anyone else experienced something similar, possibly a limit on the audio system functions? I'd love to hear about your solutions and the competency of your mechanics. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I can feel you. I drive a '00 Nissan Cefiro and experienced a similar issue a while back after quite a long trip. Thought at first it might be an old age snag or something, but eventually it turned out to be my Bass speaker that was defective. Went to the trusty garage I usually visit, guys there confirmed the Bass speaker was blown, so that messed up the whole output. Can't say it was a serious issue to fix. They replaced the broken Bass speaker, did a check on the rest of the audio system just to make sure, and everything was back in action. The navigation system wasn't touched at all, it remained as functional as ever, so not sure about that . Maybe you could check your audio wiring, could be a loose connection or something. Best to take it to a reputable garage though. Good luck with that, hope you sort it out soon.

Hey there! Sounds like your experience wasn't too much of a headache. Good to know that your garage s are quite handy. If my memory serves me well, a of mine got his Bass speaker replaced fairly recently, but I can't quite recall the exact amount he shelled out for it. Do you happen to remember what kind of bill you were looking at for that audio system fix? And has anything else cropped up in the audio or nav systems since you put that issue to bed? Thanks for the help, and enjoy the road trips!

Hey there! No problem, happy to help. The Bass speaker replacement did lighten my wallet a bit though, it set me back about 280 Euro. Not too bad considering it fully fixed the audio issue and hasn't given me any headache since. Since then, everything's been running smooth and sound, quite literally. The audio system is holding up well enough, none of the limited function problem cropping up again or anything. As for the nav system, that's been crystal clear too. I guess the Bass speaker was the rogue component in the mix! Just goes to show, a good mechanic can really steer you away from further audio troubles. Can't say I miss the silence though, nothing like good tunes on the road! Good luck with your fixes, and keep enjoying those kilometers on the clock!

Thanks for the heads-up! Sounds like that speaker swap was worth every penny, considering it sorted out your audio issues for good. No tunes on the road is a real mood killer for sure. I'll definitely check out the local garages for quotes and hopefully find out the root cause of the issue. I appreciate you sharing your experience with me. Time to put some music back in those road trips! Cheers!
